The eye test chart is an iconic piece of design. The familiar graphic (or Optotype) as we know it was created By Dr. Herman Snellen. In 1868, Dr. John Green made some improvements to his design, which is the *actual* poster you see here. Taken from a journal of the American Ophthalmological Society, the poster was printed on unbelievably thin paper. Care was taken to display and protect it behind glass with a poplar wood frame. Dr. Green's name is visible in the lower left corner. This rare and hard to find antique will add fantastic decoration to your interior space!
