Bait & Switch
Foundry molds are the patterns used to cast steel parts for machines and industry. For obvious reasons, the molds (fabricated in wood) needed to be extremely accurate. As a result, pattern-making was one of the highest paying jobs in the trade dating back more than 100 years. For this shark-like wall sculpture, round patterns attached with steel rods cascade down as if part of some kind of device. Pairing these man-made objects with a length of wood in its natural state (driftwood) makes for an interesting juxtaposition.
