Glass insulators come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, but I've always been partial to transformer bushings. The visible ribs are called petticoats, whose design helps transfer the electrical current from line to tank while preventing surface leakage, even during inclement weather. For this tabletop decor light, three vintage examples are clustered together on walnut towers of different heights. With the help of LED bulbs mounted inside each one, the beacons emit a warm, amber glow for this mid-century modern-inspired table sculpture!
