Maunsell
The Maunsell Forts were WWII fortifications built in a few watery locations to protect London during the war. Their arresting designs (see pic 10) inspired this funky accent lamp. The tripod legs are made from pool cues and the translucent panels were originally 1960s napkin holders, featuring chunks of abalone shells suspended inside lucite. The roof lifts off to allow access to the red nite light bulb. The whole idea began after I saw the red/orange napkin holder in an antique mall. Then it led to this!
Medium:
Walnut, Maple, Lucite
Dimensions:
18.25” tall x 7” wide x 7” deep
